Ms. Mongeon also specializes in providing support to individuals in transition such as services for new immigrants and career counselling for displaced workers and career support for college and university graduates.
She employs therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), Eclectic, Humanistic, Family Systems, Narrative, Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), Positive Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered, Emotionally Focused, Culturally Sensitive and Strength Based.
She has been in positions as a Professor in mental health treatment and social service work, Psychotherapist, Faculty and Community Services Program Coordinator. Ms. Mongeon has provided services in the community in the areas of domestic abuse, youth support, addictions and mental health (outpatient, day treatment, residential). She has developed and taught several college courses focused on group support in the areas of mental health, life skills coaching, addiction, and mood disorders working with a broad range of people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
